Amapi Tutorial : Extrusion
Extrusion

You may use it in two different ways :

1) One-curve method

Create a curve (a circle for example). It can be a closed or open curve.

Choose your Extrusion Tool, and... click the curve, then move the mouse. A rubberband copy of the curve, with connections to the original, is shown as you move the mouse. Click again and again to create your object with few clicks. It's easy, isn't it ?

Note that you can constrain the movement along either one of the axes, horizontal or vertical (or both - the default) simply by hitting the spacebar. This makes it really easy to create a perfect cylinder.

Two-curve method :

Create a section and a profile. Select the first one (section) choose your extrusion tool, and click on your second curve. That's all!

The section is the curve you want to use as a basis, while the profile is the one containing and controling the progression (and scale) of the section.

If the section is a closed curve, you'll see the red curves at both ends, which allows you to optionally close these areas. For example, in order to close (cap) the bottom of this vase, simply click the bottom red circle, then swipe the tool away!
